Why FANUC posts vary
- Different series: 0i-F, 0i-F Plus, 30i/31i/32i-B and older models.
- Different options: TCP, tilted plane, AI contour control, macro B, extended offsets.
- Machine-builder M-codes and ladder customisations.
- Parameter settings such as decimal point input and arc behaviour.
FANUC features a post should use
| Feature | Code |
|---|---|
| Tool length compensation | G43 H.. / cancel G49 |
| Tool centre point control | G43.4 (type 1) / G43.5 (type 2, vectors) |
| Tilted working plane | G68.2 + G53.1 / cancel G69 |
| AI contour control (look-ahead) | G05.1 Q1 / G05.1 Q0 |
| Extended work offsets | G54.1 P1–P48 (more with option) |
| Programmable offsets | G10 L2 (work), G10 L10/L11 (tool) |
| Subprograms / macros | M98 P.., M99, G65 P.. |
| Inverse time feed | G93 / G94 |

Macro B and probing
FANUC Custom Macro B allows variables (#100, #500), logic and calls (G65). Posts use it for probing cycles, tool life checks and parametric subprograms.
FANUC lathes
Lathe controls use different G-code systems (A, B or C), diameter programming and turning cycles such as G71, G70 and G76. The post must know which G-code system the machine uses.
Always ask: which FANUC, which options, and what does the machine builder add?
