Inventor to PLM/PDM Integration for Controlled Product Data

Connect Autodesk Inventor with Vault, Fusion Manage, PTC Windchill, Siemens Teamcenter or Aras, so items, BOMs, documents and engineering changes are managed in one controlled process from design to release.

PDM for files, PLM for the product lifecycle

PDM systems such as Autodesk Vault manage Inventor files, references, versions and revisions. PLM systems such as Fusion Manage, Windchill or Teamcenter manage items, BOMs, change orders, suppliers and quality processes across the whole business. Both are valuable only when Inventor data flows into them accurately and changes are controlled.

ENGIMANDI builds and configures these connections. We set up Vault properties, numbering, lifecycles and Copy Design for Inventor, connect Vault items and BOMs to PLM, and build custom connectors where standard integrations do not cover your process. Typical results are automatic item creation in PLM on release, change orders that reference the right Inventor files and viewables available to people who do not use CAD.

FAQ

Inventor PLM/PDM questions

Do we need PDM before PLM?

Usually yes. PDM such as Vault controls Inventor files and references, and PLM builds on that controlled data.

Does Fusion Manage connect to Vault?

Autodesk provides a Vault and Fusion Manage connection. We configure it and extend it for your specific items, BOMs and workflows.

Can you integrate Inventor with Windchill or Teamcenter?

Yes, using available connectors or APIs, depending on your platform version and licensing.

Will engineers need to leave Inventor?

Most daily work stays inside Inventor and the Vault add-in. Approvals can happen in PLM through a browser.

Can data continue to ERP?

Yes. See our Inventor to ERP integration service.
