Inventor BOM Automation & Integration

A BOM is only useful if it is right. We automate Inventor BOM preparation, validation and export, so purchasing, planning and production receive accurate part numbers, quantities and properties every time.

From model structure to production-ready BOM

Inventor builds its BOM from the assembly structure, the BOM structure setting of each component (normal, phantom, reference, purchased or inseparable) and iProperties such as part number, description, material and stock number. Small inconsistencies, such as a missing part number or a wrongly set phantom, turn into wrong orders on the shop floor.

ENGIMANDI builds tools that check and fix iProperties, apply BOM structure rules, merge identical parts, calculate derived values like cut lengths or sheet areas, and export the structured or parts-only BOM to Excel, CSV, ERP or PLM in the exact format required. We also compare BOM revisions to highlight what changed before release.

BOM Validation

Find missing part numbers, descriptions, materials and wrong BOM structures before release.

Bulk iProperty Editing

Edit properties across an entire assembly in a spreadsheet-style grid and write them back.

Derived Values

Frame member cut lengths, sheet metal areas, weights and stock sizes calculated automatically.

Custom Exports

BOM exports in your ERP, supplier or costing template with correct units and levels.

Revision Compare

Added, removed and changed items between two BOM versions highlighted clearly.

FAQ

Inventor BOM questions

Why is our Inventor BOM different from the ERP BOM?

Usually because of phantom or reference settings, missing properties or different grouping rules. We align these rules so both BOMs match.

Can you fix properties in old models?

Yes. Batch tools update iProperties across existing files, including files stored in Vault.

Should we use the Vault BOM or the Inventor BOM?

With Vault Professional, the Vault item BOM is often the best source for ERP. With Vault Basic, the Inventor BOM is used directly.

Can the BOM include non-modelled items?

Yes. Virtual components and custom rows can add paint, fasteners or consumables to the BOM.

Which formats can you export?

Excel, CSV, XML, JSON or direct API calls to your ERP or PLM system.
