Fusion Work Offset Post Processor Customisation

Work offsets tell the machine where each part is. We customise how your Fusion post outputs them: G54 to G59, extended offsets, control-specific formats, multi-part fixtures, tombstones, pallets and offsets set by probing, so every part is cut in the right place.

Offsets differ between controls and fixtures

In Fusion, each setup has a work offset number. The post turns that number into code, and here controls differ. FANUC uses G54 to G59 and G54.1 P1 to P48 or more with options. Haas uses G154 P1 to P99. Siemens uses G54 to G57 and G505 onwards. Okuma uses G15 H. Heidenhain uses datum table entries or presets. On a tombstone or multi-part fixture, one program may use many offsets in a specific order.

ENGIMANDI customises Fusion posts so offsets are output correctly for your control and workholding. We map offset numbers to the right format, order multi-part operations by offset or by tool, handle tombstone faces and pallets, output rotary-aware offsets on 4 and 5-axis machines, and link probing operations to the offsets they set. We add checks so an unset or duplicate offset is caught at post time.

Read G54-G59 work offsets in CAM post processing and work coordinate systems in post processors.

FAQ

Work offset questions

How do we set offsets in Fusion?

Each setup has a work offset number. The post turns it into the right code for your control.

Can the post order multi-part work by tool?

Yes. Fusion supports ordering, and the post outputs offsets correctly for either order.

What happens if two setups use the same offset?

We can add a warning or stop at post time to prevent mistakes.

Do rotary machines need special handling?

Yes. Offsets and rotary positions must match; we handle this for 4 and 5-axis work.

How many extended offsets do we have?

It depends on your control options. We check and set the post limits accordingly.
