Fusion TCP / RTCP Post Processor

With tool centre point control, the machine keeps the tool tip on the path while rotaries move, and handles pivot distances and tool length itself. We build Fusion posts that use TCP correctly on your control, or calculate machine coordinates when TCP is not available.

Tool tip programming vs machine coordinates

Without TCP, the post must calculate where the linear axes go for every rotary position, using the machine's pivot distances and the tool length. Programs are tied to one machine and one tool length, and any change means reposting. With TCP (called RTCP, TCPM or TRAORI depending on the control), the program describes the tool tip and orientation, and the control does the kinematic maths in real time.

ENGIMANDI builds Fusion posts that switch TCP on and off correctly: FANUC G43.4 or G43.5, Siemens TRAORI, Heidenhain M128 or FUNCTION TCPM, Haas G234, Fagor #RTCP and equivalents. We output rotary angles or tool vectors as the control prefers, manage TCP around tool changes and retracts, and match your control's kinematic settings. For machines without TCP, we calculate machine coordinates in the post with exact pivot data.

Read 5-axis rotary kinematics and machine kinematics configuration for 5-axis.

Capabilities

TCP post features

Correct tool centre point handling.

TCP Activation

Correct codes to switch TCP on and off per control.

Angles or Vectors

Rotary angles or IJK tool vectors as your control prefers.

Tool Length

Control handles length, so tools can change without reposting.

Safe Retracts

Retracts along the tool axis with TCP active.

Non-TCP Output

Machine coordinates from exact pivot distances.

Simulation

Fusion machine model to check motion before cutting.

FAQ

TCP / RTCP questions

Are TCP, RTCP and TCPM the same thing?

They are names for the same idea used by different control makers: the control keeps the tool tip on the programmed path while rotaries move.

Does my machine have TCP?

It is often an option. We check your control's options with you.

Is TCP better than machine coordinates?

Usually. Programs become independent of tool length and pivot changes, and the control handles kinematics.

Can you post for machines without TCP?

Yes, by calculating machine coordinates with exact pivot and tool data.

Does TCP work with 3+2?

3+2 usually uses tilted plane functions instead. See indexed 3+2 posts.
