Fusion Mazatrol Post Processor for Mazak Machines

Mazak machines run Mazatrol controls, famous for conversational programming. For CAM-programmed parts, Fusion posts target the control's EIA/ISO mode. We build Mazak EIA/ISO posts for Matrix, SmoothG, SmoothX and SmoothAi on VCN, Variaxis, Integrex and QT machines.

Mazatrol conversational and EIA/ISO, working together

Mazatrol conversational programs are created at the machine through menus, and the control calculates the toolpaths. That is ideal for simple parts. For complex 3D surfaces, 5-axis work and multi-tasking parts, CAM is the better tool, and Fusion posts produce EIA/ISO G-code that Mazatrol controls run alongside conversational programs. Many Mazak shops use both.

ENGIMANDI builds Fusion posts for Mazak EIA/ISO mode, matched to your control generation and machine. We use Mazak's tool call conventions, smoothing and high-speed functions, tilted plane and tool centre point output for Variaxis and Integrex, mill-turn modes with B-axis head and sub-spindle on Integrex, and Mazak-specific M-codes for coolant, clamps and machine functions. We are clear about what Fusion can and cannot output, so there are no surprises.

FAQ

Mazatrol post questions

Can Fusion output Mazatrol conversational programs?

Standard Fusion posts output EIA/ISO G-code, which Mazatrol controls run. Conversational Mazatrol programs are created at the machine or with Mazak's own software.

Can we mix Mazatrol and EIA programs?

Yes. Many shops use Mazatrol for simple parts and Fusion EIA programs for complex ones.

Does the control generation matter?

Yes. Available functions differ between Matrix, SmoothG, SmoothX and SmoothAi, so the post is matched to your control.

Do you support Integrex B-axis machining?

Yes, including tilted planes with the B-axis head and sub-spindle work.

Does Autodesk have Mazak posts?

Autodesk provides Mazak posts for common machines, which we can use as a starting point.
