Fusion Mill-Turn Post Processor for Multi-Tasking Machines

Mill-turn machines finish complex parts in one setup, and their posts are the most demanding of all. We build Fusion mill-turn posts that combine turning, live-tool milling, C, Y and B axes, sub-spindles and part transfer into safe, efficient programs.

Turning and milling, one program, one post

A mill-turn program switches constantly between modes: turning with the main spindle, milling with live tools while the C axis positions or interpolates, drilling on the face and diameter, Y-axis milling off-centre, B-axis angled work on multi-tasking machines, and finally transferring the part to the sub-spindle for back-side work. Each switch needs the right mode commands, spindle selections, clamps and safe moves.

ENGIMANDI builds Fusion mill-turn posts that manage these transitions reliably. We configure the machine in Fusion so simulation reflects spindles, turrets and axes, and output polar and cylindrical interpolation, C-axis and Y-axis modes, live tool spindle commands, B-axis tilted planes, part transfer and cut-off sequences. Posts are proven step by step, because mill-turn crashes are expensive.

FAQ

Mill-turn post questions

Does Fusion support mill-turn machines?

Yes. Fusion supports turning and milling in one program, with machine definitions for mill-turn machines. The post turns that into your machine's exact code.

Can Fusion simulate our mill-turn machine?

With a machine model, Fusion can simulate spindles, turrets and axes for collision checking.

Do you support twin-turret machines?

See our multi-channel posts for machines with synchronised channels.

How long does a mill-turn post take?

Usually several weeks, including careful proving of each mode.

Can you work from an existing post?

Yes. We often start from Autodesk's mill-turn posts and adapt them.
