Inventor iLogic Automation Development
We build robust iLogic master models, rules and forms, so engineers can configure parts and assemblies by choosing options instead of editing features, and still understand and maintain the logic themselves.
Rule-based design your team can own
iLogic is Inventor's built-in rules engine. Rules are written in VB.NET-based code and can drive parameters, suppress features, swap components, update iProperties, change drawings and export files. iLogic forms give engineers a simple input screen, so a new variant can be produced by entering sizes and choosing options.
The difference between an iLogic setup that lasts and one that breaks is structure. ENGIMANDI designs clean master models with stable references, separates rules by responsibility, stores shared logic in external rules, and documents what every parameter does. We avoid fragile tricks and test every combination of options, so the model does not fail when someone picks an unusual size.

iLogic automation we deliver
From single configurable parts to full product configurators.
Configurable Parts
Parameters, feature suppression and materials controlled by rules and tables.
Configurable Assemblies
Component swapping, patterns, constraints and visibility driven by options.
iLogic Forms
Clean input screens with option lists, validation and grouped parameters.
Excel-Driven Rules
Standard sizes, lookups and engineering tables kept in Excel for easy updates.
Drawing Rules
Views, sheet formats, notes and parts lists updated to match the configured model.
Rule Repair
Audit and fix slow or broken iLogic setups built by others.
iLogic toolset
Built-in Inventor automation, used properly.
Typical projects
- Configurable platform and ladder assembly
- Pump skid with motor and pump selection
- Sheet metal cabinet sized by width, height and depth
- Standard bracket family with Excel size table
- Rebuild of an iLogic model that crashes on some sizes
- Automatic drawing update after each configuration

iLogic questions
Can our engineers maintain the rules?
Yes. That is a key advantage of iLogic. We keep rules readable, documented and organised so engineers can add sizes and options.
How do we create a new order from the master?
We add a save-as or Vault Copy Design step that creates a unique copy of the configured assembly and drawings for each order.
When is iLogic not enough?
Very large assemblies, complex UI, integration with other systems or strict performance needs are better served by an add-in on the Inventor API.
Can you fix an existing iLogic model?
Yes. We audit rules, remove duplication and fix fragile references that cause errors.
Does iLogic work with Design Automation?
Yes. iLogic rules can be run by Design Automation for Inventor for web configurators.
