Autodesk Inventor Add-in Development

Custom Inventor add-ins with their own ribbon tabs, commands and dockable panels, so your company's engineering tools feel like a built-in part of Inventor and load automatically for every user.

Your engineering tools, built into Inventor

An add-in is a .NET component that Inventor loads at start-up. It can add ribbon buttons to part, assembly and drawing environments, open dockable windows, listen to events such as save or document open, and run code with full access to the Inventor API. Because it runs inside Inventor, it is fast and responsive.

ENGIMANDI designs add-ins around how your engineers actually work. We keep the user interface simple, follow Inventor's look, handle undo transactions correctly and make sure the add-in never slows down Inventor start-up. Add-ins are registered with a registry-free .addin manifest, so deployment is a simple file copy or an installer your IT team can push to every workstation.

FAQ

Inventor add-in questions

What is the difference between an add-in and an iLogic rule?

iLogic rules run inside documents or as external rules. Add-ins are compiled applications that load with Inventor, add UI and handle events across all documents.

How is an add-in installed?

Using a .addin manifest file and the compiled DLL in a standard folder, usually through an installer. No registry registration is required.

Will the add-in slow down Inventor?

No. We load UI quickly and only run heavy code when a command is used.

Can the add-in work in Inventor LT?

Inventor LT has limited API support. Full add-ins are designed for Inventor and Inventor Professional.

Do you update add-ins for new Inventor releases?

Yes. We offer maintenance to rebuild and test add-ins for each new Inventor version.
