Autodesk Platform Services (APS) Integration, Formerly Forge

Build web and cloud applications on Autodesk Platform Services: 3D viewers in the browser, model data extraction, cloud CAD automation with Design Automation, file management and webhooks, connected to your own systems.

Autodesk data and automation in any web application

Autodesk Platform Services (APS), previously called Autodesk Forge, is Autodesk's cloud developer platform. It lets your applications view 2D and 3D designs in a browser, read model properties, run AutoCAD, Revit, Inventor and 3ds Max automation in the cloud, manage files in Autodesk Docs, ACC and Fusion, and react to events through webhooks.

ENGIMANDI designs and builds APS solutions end to end: secure authentication, file upload and translation, customised viewers with markups and data overlays, property extraction into databases, Design Automation jobs for configurators and batch processing, and integrations with ERP, CRM, e-commerce and customer portals. We also use the newer GraphQL-based AEC Data Model and Manufacturing Data Model APIs where they suit the project.

FAQ

APS questions

Is APS the same as Forge?

Yes. Autodesk renamed Forge to Autodesk Platform Services in 2022. We also update older Forge apps to current API versions.

Does APS cost money?

Some APIs are free, while others, such as Model Derivative translations and Design Automation, use Autodesk's usage-based pricing. We estimate usage during design.

Can users view models without Autodesk software?

Yes. The Viewer runs in a normal web browser on desktop and mobile.

Which file formats can be viewed?

Model Derivative supports many formats, including DWG, RVT, IPT, IAM, NWD, IFC, STEP and more.

Can APS connect with our ERP?

Yes. We build back-end services that pass design data between APS and your business systems.
