Desktop Development

Native Desktop App Development for Windows, macOS & Linux

When performance, offline use, large files or hardware access matter, native desktop software is still the best choice. We build fast, stable desktop applications with deep operating-system integration.

Serious software for serious work

Engineering tools, CAD utilities, trading terminals, medical imaging viewers, machine controllers and point-of-sale systems all need the speed and reliability only native desktop code can give. They often work with large datasets, local hardware and strict security rules.

ENGIMANDI builds native desktop software in C#, C++ and Swift using each platform's own UI frameworks. Because we also build CAD plugins, we are comfortable with 3D graphics, geometry, large files and multi-threaded processing.

What you get

  • Native UI (WPF, WinUI 3, AppKit, Qt)
  • Multi-threaded, high-performance code
  • Offline-first with optional cloud sync
  • Hardware, serial, USB & device drivers
  • 3D / OpenGL / DirectX visualisation
  • Licensing & activation systems
  • Signed installers (MSI, MSIX, DMG, DEB)
  • Auto-update and crash reporting
Capabilities

Desktop software we build

Platform-specific apps that make the most of each operating system.

Windows Applications

C# / .NET with WPF or WinUI 3, and C++ / MFC for high-performance or legacy Windows software.

macOS Applications

Swift, SwiftUI and AppKit apps with sandboxing, notarisation and Mac App Store distribution.

Linux Applications

C++ with Qt or GTK for embedded panels, industrial PCs and engineering workstations.

Hardware & Machine Control

HMI and control software talking to PLCs, CNC controllers, scales and printers via serial, USB, Modbus or OPC UA.

Engineering & CAD Tools

Standalone CAD viewers, DXF / STEP processors, nesting tools and simulation front-ends.

Legacy Modernisation

Upgrade VB6, WinForms and MFC software to modern .NET with a new UI, keeping your business logic.

FAQ

Native desktop app questions

Why choose native desktop instead of a web app?

Native apps work fully offline, handle very large files, use local hardware and GPUs directly and are faster for compute-heavy tasks. For simpler business apps, a web application may be enough.

Native or cross-platform desktop?

If you only target one OS or need maximum performance, go native. If you need Windows, macOS and Linux from one codebase, see our cross-platform desktop service.

Can you add licensing to protect our software?

Yes. We implement license keys, online / offline activation, hardware locking, trial periods and subscription checks.

Do you sign and notarise installers?

Yes. We handle Windows code signing, macOS notarisation and packaging for Microsoft Store and Mac App Store if required.
