Custom Fusion Post Processor Development, Built From Scratch
When no library post comes close, we write one. Custom Fusion posts for special-purpose machines, rare or proprietary controllers, unusual kinematics and non-standard output formats, engineered from your machine documentation.
For machines the library does not cover
Autodesk's post library covers most mainstream machines, but many shops run equipment it does not: special-purpose machines built by integrators, retrofitted machines with new controls, robots and gantry systems, dispensing or engraving machines, older proprietary controls or machines that expect a custom file format rather than ISO G-code.
In these cases, modifying an unrelated post creates fragile code. ENGIMANDI designs a custom post from the ground up: the output format, number formats and modal groups, motion and arc handling, axis limits and kinematics, cycle expansion, tool and offset logic and any special commands. We document the design so the post can be maintained, and prove it carefully with your machine builder or operator.

What custom posts can handle
If the machine can be programmed, we can post for it.
Special Machines
Integrator-built, transfer, drilling, tapping and special-purpose machines.
Rare Controllers
Proprietary, legacy and PC-based controls with their own dialects.
Custom Kinematics
Unusual rotary arrangements, gantries and multi-head machines.
Custom Formats
Non-ISO output such as CSV point files, XML or vendor-specific formats.
Retrofits
Posts for machines retrofitted with LinuxCNC, Mach, Centroid or industrial controls.
Maintainable Code
Structured, commented posts that your team or ours can extend later.
Custom post stack
Autodesk post engine and tools.
Typical projects
- Post for a special drilling and tapping line
- Retrofitted mill with a PC-based controller
- Gantry machine with two independent heads
- Engraving machine needing a proprietary file format
- Legacy controller with limited G-code support
- OEM post shipped with a new machine range

Custom post questions
How do we know if we need a custom post?
If the closest library post needs large changes, or your machine uses a unique format or kinematics, a custom post is usually cheaper to maintain.
Can Fusion output non-G-code formats?
Yes. A post is a program, so it can write almost any text-based format the machine expects.
What information do you need?
Programming manuals, sample programs, machine layout and axis details, and contact with an operator or machine builder.
Can the post be used for machine simulation?
Yes. We can create a machine configuration so Fusion simulation matches the real machine.
Can OEMs distribute our post to customers?
Yes. Machine builders often ship our posts with their machines.
